Workout (Cardio)

Running: 31 minutes, 4.65km
Walking: 10 minutes, 1.00km
Running: 15 minutes, 2.35km

Joined Anna Lee for a run downtown in her neighborhood - ran from her condo over to High Park and through the park past the zoo animals (a bit of different scenery for me on a run! :). I didn't really pay attention to my watch or my pedometer when I was running - we were too busy chatting - and it wasn't until I was starting to get winded that I looked down to see the time and discovered that a half an hour had past.

So what's great about these runs with Anna Lee is I'm forgetting about my 3 intervals of 10-12 minutes each and doing just one big interval, which is what I need to work towards when I start training for the marathon. On this run our longest distance was 4.65km, not too far off from the 5-6km that I need to be steadily running in order to train. Of course, I've read that a runner should average 5km in 30 minutes and we're still over that (and I'm thinking that AL has slowed her pace down a bit to match mine which is cool of her) so as soon as we start picking up the pace a bit, we should be in good form.

Total run time? Approximately an hour (I didn't record any warmup)
Total distance? 8km
